Appetite:

  • Temporary staffing and medical staffing specialists with premiums of $50,000 or more
  • Professional/light industrial: medical staffing:
    • Longer term in nature, a more highly compensated basis in specialized white to gray collar industries
    • Certain manufacturing and light-blue collar classes can be accommodated
    • Longer term placements of RNs and LPNs (as opposed to CNAs)
    • Hospitals
    • Clinics
    • Doctors offices
    • Outpatient surgical centers
    • Schools
    • Physical/occupational therapists
    • X-ray techs
    • Dental hygienists

Other requirements:

  • Premiums beginning at $50,000
  • Solid management team with proven expertise in the staffing industry
  • Management commitment to underwriting and safety of client operations, including written safety programs in areas such as patient lifting, blood borne pathogens, ergonomics, etc.
  • Transparent, tangible loss history. Require 3 years minimum operating history
  • For medical staffing risks, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) certification
  • Need address information on all single locations with over 50 employees at one time

Ineligible risks:

  • USL&H exposures
  • The program excludes staffing companies in following sectors:
    • Heavy industrial/manufacturing
    • Construction
    • Transportation
    • Nursing homes or assisted living
    • Private homes (home health services)
    • Prison facilities
    • Psychiatric hospitals or drug/alcohol rehab facilities
    • Temp. staffing agencies with less than three years in business

  • Nationwide
  • As one of the largest property and casualty insurers in the country, Zurich has workers compensation filings in all non-monopolistic states, so we seamlessly accommodate multi-state staffing companies
  • State-by-state market conditions are closely monitored, and currently we are accepting staffing companies whose payroll is not more than 10% in the state of California
