Zurich Insurance makes Forbes’ first-ever “Best Employers for Diversity” list
Schaumburg, Illinois, January 30, 2018
Zurich Insurance Group has been named to a list of “America’s Best Employers for Diversity” by Forbes magazine.
Zurich placed at no. 167 in the ranking of 250 employers across all industries in the United States. The rankings are based on a survey of more than 30,000 employees and an examination of employer diversity policies, as well as diversity in executive suites and on boards.
“The Zurich team is pleased to be recognized by Forbes for our efforts to build a diverse and inclusive organization,” said Kathleen Savio, CEO of Zurich North America. “For us, diversity and inclusion are business imperatives for true success. We will continue to focus on and strengthen our D&I practices as we fulfill our responsibilities to our workforce, our customers and the communities where we live, work and serve.”
Forbes worked with research firm Statista to compile its first-ever list of the best employers for diversity in America. Statista conducted its employee surveys in August 2017, asking questions about diversity, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age and disability. Other factors incorporated in the diversity scoring were the gender split of companies’ management teams and boards, and whether a company proactively communicates about diversity. Only companies with 1,000 or more workers were eligible to qualify for the list.
In 2017, Zurich was named one of the 2017 Top Companies for Executive Women by the National Association for Female Executives. It was the second consecutive year Zurich has earned this honor. Zurich was also selected by Working Mother magazine as one of the 100 Best Companies for 2017—the fourth consecutive year Zurich earned this honor.
