Brian Winters is the Head of Specialty Products for Zurich North America. Under his leadership, this product-focused business serves a diverse set of customers and distributors and delivers innovative solutions for unique and challenging risks. Lines of business include domestic and international surety, political risk/trade credit, accident and health, umbrella and excess casualty, environmental, excess and surplus (E&S) property, healthcare professional liability and management liability (directors and officers, employment practices liability, crime, security and privacy). He has been with Zurich North America since 2007. During his more than 30-year insurance career, he has obtained broad experience in underwriting, broker relations and leadership at a number of carriers, including XL Catlin, Kemper, Travelers and AIG. Prior to his current role, Winters served as the Head of Customer and Distribution Management for Zurich North America, leading Broker Relationship Leaders responsible for North America’s relationships with six of our top global brokers. He was also responsible for leading Zurich’s Global Relationship Leaders, who focus on managing customer relationships. Prior to that Winters also served as the Head of Customer Distribution & Market Development for Global Corporate in North America (GCiNA), overseeing large commercial customer relationships, broker relationships and all marketing activities, and Head of the Casualty Practice for GCiNA, leading domestic, excess and international casualty operations, as well as strategic risk solutions functions.
Winters attended the College of Insurance, today known as St. John’s School of Risk Management, in New York City, where he graduated with a bachelor of Business Administration, Insurance.
