Atlanta, Ga.--Gerald Ladner recently joined the Zurich Group's U.S. strategic alignment team as Zurich Regional Manager (ZRM) in Atlanta.
The announcement came from Donna Galer, executive vice president of strategic alignment for the Zurich Group in the United States. The team was founded to align Zurich entities in the U.S. with the new Zurich Group vision, "Simply World Class."
She explained Mr. Ladner's position is a new one for Zurich, designed to foster cross marketing opportunities across Zurich's separate business units in the U.S.
According to Ms. Galer, "Mr. Ladner will represent Zurich Group in the marketplace. He has already shown himself to be adept at cross marketing and customer segmentation in his previous roles at Zurich-American and Zurich Commercial."
Mr. Ladner will be responsible for training and education, information sharing, and the development of new tools that will assist Zurich in delivering better total solutions to customers.
Mr. Ladner joined Zurich-American in 1992 as agency business development manager in Commercial Insurance. Previously he was president and chief operating officer of Alexander and Co., a Georgia brokerage firm. He was also associated with CIGNA in territorial management capacities in Atlanta and Orlando, Florida, during his 15-year career there.
Mr. Ladner holds an undergraduate degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where he currently serves as president of its alumni association. He previously served on the IIA Governmental Affairs Committee of Georgia and was an industry representative to the Atlanta Neighborhood Redevelopment Program. He also was a member of the Atlanta Business League and Central Atlanta Progress, Inc.
In the Zurich-American Head Office, Mr. Ladner served a term as coordinator for the company's Junior Achievement program and with the company's INROADS intern initiative. He also served as an instructor on business ethics for the corporate Associate program.
Mr. Ladner and his family reside in Duluth, Ga.
