Rich Zarandona to Oversee Architects & Engineers Profit Center at Zurich U.S. Specialties

NEW YORK, August 20, 1999 -- Zurich U.S., a leading commercial property and casualty insurance company, announced today that Richard Zarandona has been chosen to oversee the Architects & Engineers and Contractors professional liability products, as well as the construction owner’s protective products of the Zurich U.S. Specialties division.

Mr. Zarandona joined Zurich U.S. Specialties in 1997 as manager of the Architects & Engineers group’s Eastern Region. Previously, he was director of engineering at Foster-Wheeler Environmental, a leading international engineering and consulting firm. Mr. Zarandona is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds an M.S. degree from Newark College of Engineering. He is currently pursuing his M.B.A. in Finance at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ.

The Specialties division of Zurich U.S. provides third-party liability coverages for the unique, complex, and potentially volatile exposures of large, middle market, and small customers. The A&E products are a key component of the division’s product mix.
