Zurich North America Middle Markets Announces Director of Marketing

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., October 3, 2001 - Zurich North America named Bill Chapdelaine as director of Marketing for its Middle Markets business unit. Middle Markets provides commercial insurance solutions to mid-sized commercial businesses. Offerings include one of the broadest solutions available for agribusiness customers as well as group and association programs.

"We’re thrilled that Bill has joined the Zurich North America Middle Markets staff," said Don Hurzeler, president and CEO of the Middle Markets Business Unit. "He certainly knows the company and our approach to risk management solutions. We anticipate great things resulting from his business acumen and leadership capabilities."

Previously, Chapdelaine was director of Sales for Zurich North America’s Corporate Customer business unit. He has also held the position of director of marketing for the company’s Diversified Products business unit. In his new responsibilities Chapdelaine will oversee the development of marketing strategies, target markets and product density initiatives. In addition, he will manage all marketing functions including marketing communications and market research.

Chapdelaine holds an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut and an undergraduate degree from the University of Bridgeport.
