Zurich names Cecil Maxwell to lead its North America Healthcare Casualty Lines business

New York, N.Y., February 8, 2012 – Zurich, a leading property and casualty insurance provider globally and in North America, today appointed Cecil Maxwell to lead its Healthcare Casualty line of business, effective immediately. He will continue to be located in New York and will report to Patrick Lundy, head of Zurich's Healthcare Customer Industry Segment.

"Cecil will be responsible for setting the Healthcare casualty strategy , and will be accountable for production, profitability and compliance of the healthcare casualty line of business," said Lundy. "During his 30 years in the industry, Cecil has developed valuable relationships with the management of many of Zurich's select brokers, which will serve him well."

Prior to assuming his new role, Maxwell was responsible for Zurich's Global Corporate in North America Casualty Healthcare business. He joined Zurich in 1998, underwriting large account commercial casualty business, including workers' compensation and general and automotive liability lines.

Prior to joining Zurich, Maxwell held underwriting management roles with CNA and Continental Insurance companies. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Baruch College of the City University of New York.
