Ogaard Joins Zurich U.S. Specialties as Director of Disability Underwriting

NEW YORK, NY , August 20, 1999 -- Zurich U.S., a leading property and casualty insurance company, announced today that Steven Ogaard has joined the Accident & Health division of Zurich U.S. Specialties as Director of Disability Underwriting. In his new position, Mr. Ogaard will be responsible for the underwriting operations of Zurich’s Disability profit center.

Richard Richiski, executive vice president, Accident & Health Special Risks at Zurich U.S. Specialties, said, "Steve is an invaluable addition to our Accident & Health management team. He has extensive experience in all facets of the disability sector, including long- and short-term products. His appointment is a key component of our improved focus on underwriting as we continue to expand our capabilities in this area."

Previously, Mr. Ogaard was Assistant Managing Director at Health Reinsurance Management Partnership where he was primarily responsible for underwriting services provided to Quota Share reinsurance clients and the profitability of the disability reinsurance pool. Mr. Ogaard received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Lehigh University in 1971; carries the following designations: CLU, ChFC, FLMI, HIA and is also a member of the Group Underwriting Association of America -- Disability Insurance Committee.
