Zurich U.S. Names Gary Kaplan Global Property Director

SCHAUMBURG, IL, March 24, 1999 -- Gary S. Kaplan has recently been named director of global property and national accounts property at Zurich U.S. He formerly headed property business for the energy segment.
Mr. Kaplan assumes responsibility for an operation that produces $300 million in annual premiums. He reports to Greg Maguire, executive vice president and director, Property Group, Diversified Products.
Mr. Kaplan joined Zurich U.S. Diversified Products in June, 1995 and served in positions of increasing responsibility for energy property business. Mr. Kaplan was with The Home Insurance Company from 1988 to 1995, where his last assignment was vice president for energy property business. Prior to Home Insurance, he worked at IRI as the chemical account consultant’s manager in the oil division of its Western Regional Office.
A resident of Naperville, Ill., Mr. Kaplan holds a B.S. degree in chemistry from Northern Illinois University.
