ACORD Technology Conference ’99, Orlando, May 23, 1999...The Small Business unit of Zurich U.S. is introducing its Internet presence and e:Commerce capabilities with the help of a friendly, futuristic cartoon character named ZETAsm. ZETA, the acronym for Zurich’s Ease Through Automation, will be promoting ZISInternet.com, a website that will offer an immediate electronic partnership with Zurich U.S. Small Business agents. Zurich U.S. is a leading insurance organization serving the comprehensive risk management needs of commercial enterprises of all sizes.
Ray Thomas, CEO of the Small Business unit commented that, "the website is designed to completely support an agent’s small business insurance processing and informational needs. This electronic partnership will enable the business unit’s agents to better service their clients and manage their business by providing them the ability to review client billing, report claims, view a claim status, access on-line management information, and perform electronic commerce."
"One of the most exciting aspects of Zurich U.S.' Internet presence," indicated Thomas, "is eZSB, which will be a total e:Commerce package for insurance processing. This will be a follow-up to our highly successful Builders Risk program, which provides agents the opportunity to issue a Builders Risk policy over the Internet and immediately print the policy in their offices."
The eZSB design team has set its sights on delivering an intuitive policy issuance process. This means that, by utilizing web-based technologies, an ACORD application can be turned into an issued policy in one step, without ever needing to make a phone call or pending the account for follow-up.
eZSB also includes the capabilities to:
- print proposals, DECS, and schedules in the agent’s office.
- view the policy documents on-line.
- download into the agent's management system to support single entry.
- upload from the agent's management system.
Since February 1999, eZSB’s quoting capabilities have been successfully piloted in 15 states. Beginning in May, 1999 eZSB’s new business issuance capabilities will be introduced in the state of Maryland for a one-month pilot, followed by an aggressive countrywide rollout.
