Building affordable homes in New Orleans with Nonprofit SBP

May 1, 2019

Zurich and guest volunteers at the 2019 Zurich Classic team up with Nonprofit SBP to build new, affordable homes in New Orleans.

SBP 2019Zurich builds upon its relationship with SBP, a non-profit organization whose mission is to shrink the time between disaster and recovery.

On the Monday following the 2019 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Zurich leaders and guests attending the PGA TOUR golf event continued to give back by helping build two new homes for families in New Orleans.

For the past eight years, Zurich, working together with its guests, have contributed over 2,400 volunteers rebuilding 148 homes. As of April 2019, SBP has rebuilt more than 1,700 homes across the country with many more under construction.

In 2019, Zurich leaders and guests had the opportunity to help build new homes that are part of SBP’s Opportunity housing program, which helps secure homeownership and rental opportunities for residents of low to moderate income, helping rehabilitate properties and strengthen neighborhoods.

Zurich’s work to rebuild and build homes expands upon its $3 million donation in 2014 that funded SBP’s Disaster Resilience & Recovery Lab.
