Zurich employees promote diversity and inclusion in Chicago Pride Parade
July 15, 2019
More than 60 people from five states gathered to walk in the annual downtown event
On the last day of Pride Month, Zurich employees, family and friends made the trek from Kansas, Nebraska, Georgia, Florida and Illinois to dress in all the colors of the rainbow and represent Zurich for the first time in the annual Chicago Pride Parade. The 50th annual parade was themed, “Stonewall 50: Million Moments of Pride,” to commemorate the 1969 uprising that took place at Stonewall Inn in New York City that helped fuel the gay rights movement.
“While we reached a pivotal diversity and inclusion milestone with participation in the Pride parade, Zurich is equally proud to be supportive of our D&I efforts all year long, through inclusive benefits, employee resource groups and development opportunities,” said Daniel Kedish, head of Diversity & Inclusion for Zurich North America.
The parade was the final event for Zurich’s participation in Pride Month festivities, which involved a month-long office-attire color campaign, bake sales and discussions, all of which were organized by the PrideZ employee resource group.
Zurich understands the value of a diverse workforce and is proud to be recognized for its commitment to inclusion. To learn more about other opportunities that Zurich shares with employees, visit Zurich’s diversity & inclusion page.
