Zurich Insurance named to Forbes’ Best Employers list for second straight year
Schaumburg, Ill., May 17, 2017
Independent survey ranks the multi-line insurance provider among the top 500 U.S. companies with more than 5,000 employees
Employees have spoken and for the second year in a row they have told Forbes magazine that the Zurich Insurance is among the “Best Large Employers” in the United States.
Forbes’ list of the top 500 U.S. employers with more than 5,000 employees was compiled from the results of an independent, anonymous survey of 30,000 American workers. The respondents were asked on a scale of zero to ten how likely they were to recommend their organization to friends or family. Those results were the most important factor in determining a company’s ranking on the list.
“Zurich’s ability to deliver for our customers depends on our people,” said Mike Foley, CEO of Zurich North America. “Receiving this recognition from Forbes for the second year in a row is a validation of the company’s focus on creating a culture and physical environment where our employees can thrive. This includes providing our staff with sit/stand desks, re-designing our offices to include more open and collaborative work spaces, and implementing flex work policies and technology tools that allow staff to achieve a better work/life balance.”
Zurich being named to Forbes’ “Best Large Employers” list for the second year in a row follows other recent recognitions of Zurich’s accomplishments in maintaining a leadership position as an employer of choice in the insurance industry. On May 1, Brian Little, Head of Human Resources for Zurich North America, was named Chief Human Resources Officer of the Year in the For Profit category by HRO Today magazine. Zurich also was selected by Working Mother magazine as one of the 100 Best Companies in 2016, 2015 and 2014. Zurich has also been named one of the 2017 Top Companies for Executive Women by the National Association for Female Executives. It’s the second consecutive year Zurich has earned this honor.
The Forbes’ “Best Employers” list was published on Forbes.com on May 8 and in the May 16 issue of Forbes magazine.
