Chris Meyers ascends in East Region as VP for Corporate Casualty

Zurich veteran Chris Meyers is moving into a new role as East Region Vice President for Corporate Casualty, responsible for the profitable retention and growth of one of the largest regional portfolios in Zurich U.S. Commercial Insurance’s Casualty book.

It’s a natural transition for Chris. Previously the region’s Casualty Portfolio Manager, Chris held responsibility for developing and implementing business strategies to help the Corporate Casualty team meet performance objectives.

He now takes the reins previously held by John Diaz, who has accepted a new challenge as Zurich’s Chief Operating Officer for Middle Markets.

“Both Chris and John are strategic thinkers who are relentlessly customer-focused,” said Zurich Head of Casualty Valerie Butt. “Chris will continue to build on John’s momentum while bringing fresh approaches to the role. We wish John continued success as he contributes in new ways to our customers and the Zurich organization.”

Chris has more than 20 years of experience working with large account casualty operations on the East Coast. After joining Zurich in 1998, Chris progressed through a variety of key positions in the former Global Corporate business in North America.

“I’m really excited to take on this expanded role within the East Region,” Chris said. “This team has enjoyed a great deal of success under John’s leadership. With the talent on board I’m confident we can continue that momentum by remaining focused on understanding our customers’ needs and being passionate in our efforts to positively impact their total cost of risk.”

Before Zurich, Chris held underwriting and account executive positions at AIG and Travelers.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in risk management & insurance from Temple University.

Angela Hoffman becomes Broker Relationship Leader
