This is a great opportunity for individuals who want to be challenged and become successful members of our Claims team. We have entry-level opportunities in our Claims organization in the following lines of business:

  • Auto
  • General Liability
  • Property
  • Workers Compensation
  • Recovery Services

Your Claims career begins in your home office with a structured training plan, working with the local manager and team, as well as classroom training at our home office in Schaumburg, IL. Throughout your training, you will progressively build your skills as you are introduced to more complex claims, case studies and skill-building exercises that help you understand how to work both internally and with our customers.

“I noticed an opening for Zurich’s Claims Training Program advertised on a career website and was instantly drawn to apply as it seemed Zurich was offering something different. During training, I was not only provided with the material and education required for the job, but was guided, counseled and encouraged, every step of the way. Once home, I found the keys to my success were surrounding me; my mentors’ knowledge, passion and patience have proved to be the most essential factors in my progression. In the midst of job searching, I discovered there are few employers willing to invest the time, money and energy required to train individuals who haven’t been working in the insurance industry for several years. Zurich has proved to be an exceptional, innovative company committed to doing just that. The Zurich CTP program is an unparalleled example of this commitment.”
– Jillian, Claims Specialist

The transition back to your local office will be your opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned. You will build on this strong foundation as you continue with 8-10 months of on-the-job training.

Underwriter Training Program

Zurich’s Underwriter Training Program is for highly talented college graduates with the drive to become successful members of our Underwriting team. While working in our training program, you will learn the fundamentals of multiline underwriting including measuring exposure, analyzing risk, pricing, quoting and setting coverage.

Upon successful completion of the classroom training, you will work in the field or a line-of-business office setting and will continue to work with your manager, mentor and peer Underwriters to understand “The Zurich Way of Underwriting.” You will perform basic underwriting functions in a market-facing or product-underwriting role while continuing to develop your professional skills and create a strong foundation for your career in insurance.

As an Underwriter, you will help your customers understand the risks they face, and how to best handle each risk. You will develop relationships with the brokers and agents selling our policies and will be crucial in helping the organization achieve our growth strategy.

“I enjoy the financial and relationship sides of business, such as dealing with brokers and negotiating. Underwriting is a great combination of both of these and is diverse enough to keep each day challenging.”
— Ryan, an Underwriter Trainee
