Learn how our Crisis Expense coverage just got better
April 4, 2019
Zurich’s High Excess insurance solutions now include up to $250,000 of additional coverage to help customers protect themselves from catastrophic situations.
For any business to succeed, it’s important to capitalize on current opportunities as well as embrace new ones. But every broker knows their clients must also be prepared for the challenges presented by an unpredictable world. Umbrella and Excess Liability insurance solutions help protect our customers from catastrophic situations and potentially major liability claims that could threaten their future.
Not all insurance policies are created equal. What sets Zurich’s High Excess coverage apart – in addition to delivering solutions even in the higher layers of a customer’s excess tower – is its new, value-added benefit, explained Carol Laufer, Head of Excess Casualty for Zurich North America.
“Many lead umbrellas have crisis expense, which typically offers $250,000 in the event of a crisis, whether it’s to help victims’ families or hire a public relations firm to cover reputational costs, to cite just two examples,” Laufer said. “Zurich increases that amount for our customers. If they have our High Excess coverage in their tower, as long as we believe the claim will hit our layer, they may get $250,000 more for crisis expense coverage. That will be included in every High Excess policy that we have. We are one of the few insurance providers to offer this.”
Approved crisis business examples include crisis-related public relations; medical, funeral and travel expenses and psychological counseling for families of victims; temporary living expenses, and expenses to secure the scene of a casualty business crisis. The coverage also is flexible enough to include additional expenses that are preapproved by Zurich.
“We also have the ability to drop down from a higher coverage layer to a lower coverage layer when customers need that option,” Laufer said, “and Zurich has the unique ability to issue foreign local admitted policies when needed.”
In addition, Zurich’s knowledgeable and experienced Excess Casualty Claims Team will be there when you need them.
