Anurag Batta is the Head of Strategy, Innovation and Business Development for Zurich North America. In this role, he is responsible for Strategy, Operational Planning, Enhanced Market Dynamics, Communications and the Office of the CEO. He also oversees business development, prioritization and execution of enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, business operating reviews, innovation efforts and message development for internal and external stakeholders.
Prior to his current role, Batta was Chief Operating Officer for Alternative Markets, a position he held since February 2015. He was instrumental in the acquisition and integration of Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) Crop business, the execution of Underwriting technical excellence and continuous improvement of the business unit’s operating model. Earlier, he served as Chief of Staff for Alternative Markets.
Before joining Alternative Markets, Batta was a member of the North America Strategic Execution team. As a strategic business partner, he worked closely with the North America senior leadership team, where he was responsible for driving key strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Zurich in 2010, he held several leadership positions in Operations, Client Management and Product Development across multiple industries.
Batta served as a board member of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (Midwest), chairing its Grants Committee from 2014-2015.
Batta holds an MBA in strategy and finance from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and an undergraduate degree in computer science from Kurukshetra University in India.
