Zurich Insurance appoints Lillian Labbat Global Head of Trade Credit & Political Risk

Labbat will be accountable for the direction, management and performance of the Trade Credit and Political Risk business, which is part of the Specialty Products unit. She will have responsibility underwriting teams in the Americas, London, Continental Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
Zurich Trade Credit & Political Risk provides political risk and trade credit insurance for financial institutions, multinational corporations, investors, exporters, contractors and infrastructure developers globally.
Prior to joining Zurich, Labbat held executive roles in global trade finance, export finance and structured credit with J.P. Morgan, BNP Paribas and Citigroup. Her most recent role was managing partner and co-founder of Metis Markets, a financial advisory firm with a focus on fundraising and structured finance solutions for global businesses. She has extensive experience in both financing and insurance, working with brokers, official agencies and global customers.
Labbat will be based in New York and report to Brian Winters, Head of Specialty Products, North America Commercial Insurance.

Lillian earned her Masters of Business Administration degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from St. John’s University, New York.
