The triage service delivers immediate recommendations from knowledgeable and highly skilled medical professionals 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A registered nurse takes the call to assess if first aid may be all that’s required or whether a referral for more extensive off-site treatment is warranted.
Professional medical intervention at the time of an incident can have a decisive impact on an employee’s ability to stay at work. It also allows the opportunity to improve utilization of Zurich’s preferred provider network when off-site treatment is deemed appropriate. Data shows that qualified, post-incident recommendations help minimize medical costs for both employers and employees while achieving better outcomes.
In addition, post-incident triage reports are developed and can be sent directly to the Zurich Care Center, which eliminates reporting lag time.
