Richard Gallagher
Skills and experience
Rich Gallagher joined Zurich in 2003 as a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant managing large property accounts. In 2008, Rich assumed his present role as a Risk Engineering Line of Business Director for Property.
External appointments
After graduating from the University of Delaware in 1978, Rich joined the Industrial Risk Insurers. Over the next 25 years, he developed through various property loss prevention roles within the IRI. During that time, he took a six year hiatus spent with CIGNA, an IRI member company.
Rich is a member of the National Fire Protection Association. He is a member of the NFPA technical committees for Sprinkler System Discharge Criteria, Fundamentals of Combustion Systems Hazards, Single Burner Boilers, as well as Ovens and Furnaces. He also represents Zurich on the Property Insurance Research Group organized under the NFPA Research Foundation, and is a past member of the Research Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Educational background
Rich graduated with a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware in 1978.
