Skills and experience
Robert Murray is the U.S. National Accounts Head of Surety for Zurich North America, where he is responsible for managing profit and loss for all North America Surety businesses. He brought his extensive experience in the surety and banking sectors to Zurich in 2013 when he joined as Vice President of Surety, where he managed all of the Canadian Surety business. Prior to joining Zurich, Murray spent 13 years with Chubb Insurance, serving in various leadership roles in the Surety and Specialty lines, including developing strategy and driving results for the Surety, Fidelity and Management Liability product segments. Before Chubb, he spent 12 years in commercial lending and account management at Scotiabank.
External appointments
Murray serves as Vice Chairman on the board and executive committee of the Surety and Fidelity Association of America. He also has served on the Board of Directors of the Surety Association of Canada.
Educational background
Murray holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
