Zurich and Arrowsight recognized with U.S. Insurance Award

Business Insurance has honored Zurich and Arrowsight with the U.S. Insurance Award for Safety Technology Innovation of the Year, in recognition of a camera-enabled coaching solution designed to enhance safety on construction jobsites. It was developed jointly by Zurich Construction, Zurich Resilience Solutions and Arrowsight, a safety technology company specializing in video-based behavioral modification and coaching analytics.

The award, presented at the Business Insurance 2026 U.S. Insurance Awards gala July 23 at the Aon Grand Ballroom on Navy Pier in Chicago, recognizes the success of a program that combines Arrowsight's video coaching platform with Zurich Resilience Solutions risk engineering services to help contractors identify hazardous behaviors, strengthen safety practices and provide coaching to protect workers.

Also recognized at the event was Zurich Data Center Project Guard, a specialized Builders Risk solution, which was a finalist for 2026 Insurer Team of the Year. Zurich Construction won this award in 2025 for another Builders Risk solution for mega projects.

The Zurich + Arrowsight camera-enabled coaching solution was developed and tested in a three-year pilot across nine major New York City construction projects valued at more than $2 billion. The program delivered measurable improvements in safety, including a reduction of more than 50% in workers compensation claim frequency compared with similar projects outside the pilot.  Since that pilot, Zurich and Arrowsight have made the solution available across the U.S., where it has been used on construction jobsites ranging from vertical urban developments to expansive rural data centers.

“This recognition reflects the power of combining innovative technology with the care and knowledge of experienced risk engineers and underwriters to bring workers home safe at night,” said Arooran Sivasubramaniam, U.S. Head of Zurich Resilience Solutions, who accepted the award at the gala alongside James Savage, Head of Construction Casualty for Zurich U.S., and Adam Aronson, founder and CEO of Arrowsight.

“Through our ongoing work with Arrowsight and our risk engineers,” Savage said, “we’ve demonstrated how technology-enabled coaching can help identify hazards before injuries occur, strengthen safety performance and support better outcomes for our construction customers.”
