Zurich U.S. names Kate Duncan Chief Actuary
Duncan joins Zurich with more than 20 years of actuarial leadership experience.
Kate Duncan has joined Zurich U.S. as Chief Actuary, effective immediately.
Duncan, who most recently served as Chief Actuary for North America Reserving at Liberty Mutual, will lead Zurich’s U.S. actuarial function, with responsibility for reserving, analytics and actuarial governance. She will report to Zurich Group Chief Actuary Katie Williams, with matrixed reporting to Zurich U.S. Chief Financial Officer James Bracken.
“Kate is an accomplished actuarial leader with a strong record of delivering results, developing talent and leading through change,” Williams said. “Her deep experience and broad leadership background will help strengthen our actuarial capabilities and support Zurich’s continued focus on disciplined, data-driven decision-making.”
Duncan has more than 20 years of actuarial leadership experience and advanced through roles across personal insurance, commercial insurance, life and specialty insurance at Liberty Mutual.
She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Boston College.
