Zurich North America has promoted Brian Zink to Head of Financial Lines for U.S. National Accounts, which serves the insurance provider’s publicly traded and privately held corporate customers.

In this role, Zink will be accountable for the direction, management and performance of the Financial Lines strategic business unit, whose offerings include Professional Liability and Cyber Insurance as well as Financial Institutions, Management Liability and Transactional Liability coverages. Zink will report to Paul Lavelle, Head of U.S. National Accounts.

Since joining Zurich in 2010, Zink has taken on roles of increasing responsibility regionally within Management Liability, leading up to his naming as Head of Management Liability for U.S. National Accounts. More recently he stepped in to serve as interim Head of Financial Lines.

“Brian has been at the core of leadership for Zurich North America Financial Lines for some time,” Lavelle said. “We look forward to him navigating the evolving market with his team.”

In 2022, Zink was part of a team that accepted a Business Insurance Innovation Award for the International Towers by Zurich (ITZ) product, developed in response to mounting jury awards in liability cases in the United States. ITZ provides U.S.-domiciled multinational companies with a separate Directors & Officers (D&O) coverage tower for their foreign directors and officers. This helps ensure they will have reliable management liability coverage in place, even if one or more large claims or jury awards in the U.S. erodes the aggregate coverage limit.

Before joining Zurich, Zink held management and leadership positions in the Management Liability practices at Beazley Insurance and The Hartford. He has been a guest speaker at numerous industry events over the past 10 years.

Zink earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
