Ed Lopes is the Regional Executive for the East Region for Zurich North America. In this role, he is responsible for all market execution and business operations in the Eastern U.S. In addition to leading the Regional Leadership Team in the East, he oversees the local Sales & Distribution staff in achieving profitability and growth targets through customer and distribution strategies. He has been with Zurich since 2009. Prior to joining Zurich, Lopes was Regional President for American International Group (AIG) in the Northeast Region, where he was responsible for all operations in the territory. Before joining AIG, he held a variety of positions at Chubb in Boston, including Senior Underwriter and Practice Leader in the Technology Underwriting Group as well as Regional Manager and Sales Director at Chubb Services Corporation.

External appointments

Lopes is actively engaged in several charitable efforts in the greater New York area. He serves as co-chair of the advisory board for Make-A-Wish of Metro New York and Western New York, and he is on the board of directors for the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Northeast.

Educational background

Lopes earned a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
