Zurich North America names Adam Hamm Chief Compliance Officer
Hamm succeeds retiring Damian Sepanik as Chief Compliance Officer.
Zurich North America has appointed Adam Hamm as Chief Compliance Officer, effective July 15.
Hamm, who was Chief Compliance Officer at Allianz Commercial North America, succeeds Damian Sepanik, who announced his retirement after 20 years of service to Zurich.
As Chief Compliance Officer, Hamm is responsible for leading all aspects of Zurich North America's compliance function. This includes oversight of Zurich’s compliance for multiple legal entities and senior leaders to support its businesses’ adherence to all laws and standards, promote a culture of integrity, and advise the Board and CEOs of Zurich North America and Zurich Cover-More. He will also join the Group Compliance Executive Team.
"Adam is an accomplished leader with a strong track record in regulatory and enterprise-level compliance oversight,” said Zurich North America CEO Kristof Terryn. “Throughout his career, he has consistently helped companies navigate complex regulatory environments while fostering a culture of policy adherence.”
He is based in Zurich North America's Schaumburg, Illinois headquarters and will report directly to Zurich Group Chief Compliance Officer Anne Jaeger.
In his most recent role at Allianz Commercial – North America, Hamm led a governance and control function, ensuring compliance and providing strategic guidance to business leaders across areas such as anti-corruption, AML, data privacy, ethics and regulatory change management. Previously, he held senior leadership positions in both the private and public sectors, including with global consulting firm Protiviti and as North Dakota Insurance Commissioner.
Hamm holds a Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University.
