Directional Care
WTP’s expert team provide directional care, getting travelers to the right care at the right place at the right time. Directional Care might be connecting the traveler with a telemedicine provider, coordinating an outpatient review or transporting the traveler to a hospital with the right specialist to treat their concerns.
WTP will locate the nearest suitable medical facilities through their global provider network (GlobalCare Network).
VirtualCare - Telemedicine
Even the most mundane of health situations, such as an upset stomach, can cause major problems when you’re away from home. And a common issue for business travelers is running out of medication while overseas. As the prescription needs to be administered by a local doctor, it’s a time-consuming process to coordinate a consultation, provide medical records, and receive a new script.
That’s why WTP has partnered with world-class virtual care providers to offer travelers’ access to telehealth consultations that provide advice and e-script capabilities 24/7 in over 60 countries and across dozens of languages.
Travelers can have the consultation in the comfort of their hotel room, home or anywhere they may be located.
WTP simplifies the customer journey when seeking assistance for low acuity medical conditions by triaging the traveler’s condition prior to referring them to VirtualCare to control health risks. Once the condition is deemed eligible for VirtualCare, the traveler will be passed through to a virtual healthcare provider, depending on their location.
Hospital admissions & medical monitoring
WTP will collaborate closely with the travelers’ treating team, gathering comprehensive information about their condition, including diagnosis, and treatment plan. WTP complete regular phone-based medical assessments with the traveler and with their family and business associates as well as monitor care until the condition is resolved or they are ready to return home.
Guarantee of payment
WTP will liaise with the billing department to arrange a guarantee of payment, subject to the terms and conditions of your insurance policy.
Medical evacuation or repatriation
Every year WTP manages over 1,300 repatriations and emergency evacuations from all corners of the globe. These range from ground transfers, helicopter missions, commercial repatriations with medical escorts to air ambulances.
In the event the current facility is unable to provide the appropriate level of medical care, WTP will coordinate transportation to the nearest hospital or medical facility that can provide the level of needed.
Medical repatriations and evacuations can be a complex process and the travelers’ health and well-being are of paramount importance, making it essential that all aspects of the process are handled with care and professionalism.
WTP have the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate through any obstacle to ensure travelers receive the best possible care during their return home. The team follows robust procedures to ensure all logistics are managed and patient outcome is never compromised, so travelers can rest assured they are in the very best hands.
The WTP medical team stay in regular contact during repatriation/evacuation planning stages, to confirm the traveler remains fit to travel, and will arrange bed-to-bed transfer.

Coordination of emergency travel
WTP can arrange global flights, including tickets for family members to travel to be with a loved one when sick or injured or to return a child home. The team can also arrange hotels or ground transport.
Return of remains
In case of death, the WTP team are here to support in the return of mortal remains, via the expert funeral assistance partners, including travel clearances and authorizations.
