Compliance resources for auto dealerships
Adhering to industry regulations is essential to consistent, ethical and successful business operations. Non-compliance puts your dealership and its reputation at risk. Zurich offers training and resources that can help protect your business legally and financially.

Zurich University compliance training
In addition to valuable courses on F&I sales, Service Advisor training, product knowledge, human resources and risk management topics, our video-based education platform includes compliance training that addresses changing regulations. Courses include Essential F&I and Sales Compliance, FTC Safeguards Rule, A Blueprint for Safeguards Compliance and Qualified Individual Training, and more.

Legal Issues Guide
Zurich’s Legal Issues Guide, authored by Hudson Cook LLP, a leading law firm in the automotive industry, is an easy-to-use reference providing guidance on a wide range of federal regulations affecting auto dealers, and complements Zurich’s online compliance training program.

Transaction Review Checklist
This self-audit tool lets dealership personnel conduct a self-administered review to identify compliance deficiencies. While informal and not intended to replace any required legal reviews, the checklist covers policies and procedures ranging from fees and charges to privacy notifications, record retention, advertising, buyers’ orders, credit applications and much more. The Transaction Review Checklist can help mitigate the risk of fines, penalties and plaintiff’s lawsuits, and clarify when legal counsel may be needed

Safeguards Assessment
The Federal Trade Commission’s Safeguards Rule requires non-banking financial institutions, including automotive vehicle dealerships, to have comprehensive security and data breach reporting programs in place to help protect private customer information. Our dealer customers can work with a Zurich Cyber Risk Engineer on a review of exposures and controls related to security aspects covered under the Safeguards Rule. The review can result in guidance on steps to take to ensure compliance.
