Heather Fox named Zurich North America Chief Underwriting Officer

Schaumburg, Ill, April 3, 2023 – Heather Fox has been named North America Chief Underwriting Officer, effective immediately.

Fox reports to Zurich North America CEO Kristof Terryn, with a shared reporting relationship to Penny Seach, Zurich Insurance Group Chief Underwriting Officer. She is based in our New York office and will become a member of the Zurich North America Executive Committee.

Fox comes to Zurich from ARC Excess & Surplus in Jericho, NY, where she started in 2009 and most recently served as General Counsel & Chief Brokerage Officer. Before that, she was with AIG in New York for 12 years, where she specialized in Executive Liability and Directors & Officers insurance.

In her new role, Fox will lead our Technical Underwriting team, which includes Pricing, Product Management, Sustainability Underwriting, Underwriting University, Lines of Business Underwriting and Underwriting Services.

Fox earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Managerial Economics from St. John’s University in New York and a law degree from New England Law in Boston. She is a past-president and an active member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and is a co-founder and board member with The Bridge Transcends, an organization that supports the advancement of women in the Financial Lines insurance industry.
