Heather Fox is Head of U.S. National Accounts for Zurich North America, responsible for the direction, management and performance of all large commercial Property & Casualty business in the U.S. She reports to the CEO of Zurich North America and is part of the Zurich North America Executive Committee, the Zurich North America Leadership Team, the Zurich Insurance Group Leadership Team and the Global Commercial Insurance Leadership Team.

She previously was Chief Underwriting Officer for Zurich North America, responsible for leading the company’s Technical Underwriting team, including Pricing, Product Management, Sustainability Underwriting, Underwriting University, Lines of Business Underwriting and Underwriting Services. 

Fox joined Zurich in April of 2023, following over 14 years with ARC Excess & Surplus, where she served as General Counsel and Chief Broking Officer, as part of the leadership team setting the strategic direction for the company. Prior to her tenure with ARC, Fox was with AIG for over 12 years. Her roles there included General Counsel and Chief Underwriting Officer of the Executive Liability lines of insurance.

Fox was recognized in 2017 and in 2021 by Insurance Business America as one of the Elite Women in Insurance. Fox was also named Insurance Professional of the Year in 2022 by the New York City Association of Insurance Women for her leadership and support of women in the insurance industry.

External appointments

Fox is a co-founder and board member with The Bridge Transcends, an organization that supports the advancement of women in the Financial Lines insurance industry. She is a current member and past President and Trustee of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), where she received the organization’s 2021 PLUS Founders Award.

Educational background

Fox received a Juris Doctor from New England Law in Boston and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from St. John's University, graduating with cum laude honors.
