ZRS NA targets growth in open market with key leadership additions

Jennifer Walker promoted to Head of ZRS Middle Market U.S., Jon Tate promoted to Head of Core Risk Engineering and Alexander Mirescu named Head of Extreme Weather

Zurich North America, one of the largest providers of insurance solutions and services to businesses and individuals, announced the appointment of three leaders within its Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) business, led by Arooran “Aroo” Sivasubramaniam, Head of ZRS for North America. These moves reflect ZRS’ focus on expanding its risk advisory solutions to the open market and fully leveraging its deep technical insights and capabilities to help customers address and mitigate complex business challenges. The three will report to Sivasubramaniam.

J Walker“Jennifer, Jon and Alex each bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the ZRS leadership team that will help us enhance our solutions and position us to help customers understand, quantify and take action to manage risk,” said Sivasubramaniam.

Jennifer Walker has been promoted to the role of Head of Middle Market U.S. for ZRS. In this new role, she will lead the development and implementation of strategies for the Middle Market ZRS team, helping customers evaluate and manage risk, protect their people, operations and assets; reduce loss costs and improve business performance. Walker, who is based in Virginia, has 35 years of experience in the risk management sector and most recently served as Regional Vice President for ZRS Property Services. Since joining Zurich in 2002, she has held roles of increasing responsibility in account management and risk engineering. Prior to joining, she held roles in risk mitigation and loss prevention with leading Fortune 500 insurance companies.  J Tate

Jon Tate has been promoted to Head of Core Risk Engineering for ZRS U.S., where he will lead the newly formed Core Risk Engineering team, made up of nearly 500 risk engineers across ZRS’ Casualty, Construction, Energy, Machinery Breakdown, Marine and Property teams. Based in Alabama, Tate, who has more than 35 years of experience in the insurance and construction industries, most recently served as Vice President of Construction Risk Engineering and Climate Solutions for ZRS NA. Since joining Zurich in 1997, he has held a series of progressively responsible roles in risk engineering management. Prior to joining Zurich in 1997, Tate held engineering and project management roles for two large, heavy industrial general contractors.

A MirescuAlexander Mirescu has been named Head of Extreme Weather for ZRS U.S. In this role, Alex will lead ZRS’ Extreme Weather team to build out risk reduction and resilient engineering solutions by engaging with key sectors, such as real estate, energy, transport and logistics, tourism and leisure, as well as cities and local governments. Mirescu, based in New York, brings nearly 20 years of global experience in sustainability, climate resilience and public policy to his new role at Zurich. He had held roles with Deloitte, World Economic Forum, the World Bank, the United Nations and other notable institutions.
