Auto dealerships can be generational success stories, especially as so many are family businesses. However, preventable claims, outsized “nuclear” jury verdicts, and underestimating insurance needs can put any dealership at risk — even one that has thrived for years.

In this episode of Car Dealership Guy’s “Daily Dealer Live” podcast, Zurich’s President of Direct Markets, Todd Kaminiski, and Doug Coyle, VP, General Manager for the West Division, sit down with host Sam D’Arc to discuss the pillars of protecting a dealership’s legacy.

Safety precautions and investments to help limit claims; the importance of regularly scheduled walk-throughs, and determining the right level of Commercial Umbrella coverage are some of the safeguards discussed. Growing risks such as AI-driven security threats and increasingly volatile weather are also touched on in this lively conversation.

This episode was originally presented live on Car Dealership Guy on June 5, 2026.
